Are you starting a minimalism journey this year and looking for some inspiration? Maybe it’s Marie Kondo’s show, Tidying Up, that just came out on Netflix, but I feel like the simple way of life is appealing to the heart’s of many! For myself, I find that following along on other’s simplifying journey, whether it’s focused on capsule wardrobes, minimizing products, or simply living a more mindful way of life, is imperative to continuing the concept in my own life. Not only is it inspirational, it’s also confirming that I’m not the only crazy one and you aren’t either, am I right?! It’s way too easy to fall into the consumerism trap over and over again, so find those who inspire you and follow their journey! Here are my top 4 motivation sources in the minimalism space that I feel like mesh well with my own life and goals!
4 Female Experts on Minimalism:
1. (Nameless), A Small Wardrobe
I don’t even know her name, but I find her to be so quirky and easy to listen to (maybe it’s the Australian accent). She inspires me to keep my clothing minimal! She’s a bit goofy but I think that’s why I like her so much. She’s got a very minimal and streamlined aesthetic which is so refreshing to me in a society of over-done and over-made-up looks.
2. Dawn, The Minimal Mom
Dawn’s “About Me” section on YouTube says: “For us, family minimalism is a survival tactic! It allows us to focus on what we’re most passionate about, be better parents & friends and family members…and to enjoy this one life we’ve been given! We don’t organize, and I don’t really like the word declutter. Rather, we help you PURGE unwanted items quickly, so that you, too, can get out from under piles of stuff, to enjoy life! And honestly, we don’t really care about titles! Minimalist, simple living, even homesteading…we just want to help you get rid of the junk and find what matters most!”
3. Kitty, Kitty Cotten
Kitty lives in Minneapolis and is a capsule wardrober, an aspiring minimalist, home renovator and momma. Her videos and blog posts are centered around living more consiously and sustainably. YES! Love her and her content.
4. Karin, Truncation
Karin, is into “Feminist Homemaking” (her words!), and I love that about her. She’s content to be a simple mom but not because it’s what’s expected, but because it’s what she wants. Her content is focused on being mindful as she mothers her three daughters.
So I obviously have an obsession with Minnesota blogger and Youtubers, because 3 out of the 4 listed here are from the great state of Minnesota! Which happens to be where I was born so there’s always that.
Do you know of any other minimalism or simple living bloggers that I should be following?
