Last week, I shared Intermittent Fasting with you. As my fasting day is usually on Wednesdays, I have decided to list each week what my menu will be. I am continually amazed at how different 500 calories can look- it’s either 95% of a big mac, or a plethora of fruits and vegetables. I want to show how easy it is for the body to be satisfied on 500 calories for one day (or two, max) a week!
Today’s Menu
Breakfast:
Hard boiled egg (70 calories)
Kiwi (42 calories)
2 cups French press (4 calories)
Lunch:
Spinach and romaine salad with carrots and celery, 2 cups (34 calories)
Avocado oil drizzle (31 calories)
White Balsamic Vinegar, 1/2 T. (8 calories)
Snack:
Mini carrot cake (187 calories) ** This is not typical on my 500 day menu, as cake probably isn’t the best detox food! But today at work we celebrated my boss’ birthday, and I couldn’t resist. I know, I know.
Dinner:
Baked salmon (150 calories)
Roasted brussel sproats, 1/2 c. (28 calories)
Total Calories: 563
(I use MyFitnessPal for all the calorie information and tracking)
I did go a little over, but I am not going to beat myself up over 60 calories. I will take the dog on a little stroll this evening, and it will all even out!
