A Week in My Shoes: ABLE Rojas Mule Review

September 26, 2018

Since I’ve been on the hunt for ethical shoe brands over the last year, I’m so excited to share with you these ABLE Rojas Mules! ABLE is a lifestyle brand working to end generational poverty, and focus on giving women around the globe healthy and safe work environments. Like I mentioned in my weekly review last week, I wore the mules for seven days straight so I could be frank about quality and wear. Keep reading to find out my thoughts!

My Week:

Sunday: Wore for the first time to Meeting and a quick stop at the grocery store; shoes felt good, just a little sticky under my bare feet. Since we were home around the house after that, I went barefoot the rest of the day but that was the perfect amount of time for the initial wear!

Monday: Shoes started rubbing on my small toes and at the top of my foot since this was the first all day wear at work; still comfortable overall- never felt too high.

Tuesday: Taped foot and toes at sore spots and they were still comfortable. Halfway through the day, I noticed pain at the bottom of my foot (outer arch).

Wednesday: Ran errands with Lucy to the store and library, and the shoes started to feel sore after the two so was barefoot around the house until our bible study in the evening. Didn’t have to tape toes today, just the tops of my feet.

Thursday: Worked and then walked downtown to a dinner out. Feet were a little sore walking around but nothing tape couldn’t fix! Ace and jig Stillwater, able Rojas mule, ethical shoe brand
Friday: I wore socks with the mules so they weren’t painful at all! Probably not my favorite look with mules but here in Boise, we get to pull of Birks and socks, so why not mules? Lucy and I did go to a cornmaze and pumpkin patch so I decided to change into a spare pair of shoes once we got there- I didn’t think ruining a new pair of shoes just for the purpose of this blog post was worth it! And I typically wouldn’t wear mules to a pumpkin patch so I’m okay with that decision. Objects without meaning top, able Rojas mule, ethical shoe brand
Saturday: By the last day of the week, I didn’t need tape at all! I ran some errands and felt very comfortable. I did change into some Keds for the evening since we were at a birthday in the park.

My Review:

Pros: These are some seriously classy shoes! I got so many compliments on them throughout the week. I felt better about whatever I was wearing when I wore these mules- they are the perfect elevation to any outfit! The heel is a very comfortable height yet still feels dressy. The color is very versatile and the leather is soft and high quality.

Cons: I’m a true 10 and these run small- with wear the shoes did fit better, but to start with I felt like my heels were hanging off! Also the leather lining started to come up underneath the toes with my week of wear so I’m very careful now with taking the shoes off.

I don’t tend to buy shoes often since I prefer quality over quantity, but I’m glad I took the plunge and added these to my capsule. They will be a perfect, year round shoe for me.
