Keeping your home clean and organized is not an easy task, especially if you have a busy schedule. However, having a cleaning schedule can help you keep your home tidy and free of clutter. In recent years, there has been an increase in the popularity of cleaning scheduling systems, which are designed to help individuals maintain a clean and organized home. Two of the most popular cleaning scheduling systems are Clean Mama and Fly Lady. Let’s take a closer look at each of these systems and how they can help you keep your home clean and organized.
Clean Mama
Clean Mama is a cleaning scheduling system developed by Becky Rapinchuk, a mother of three who has a passion for home organization and cleaning. The Clean Mama system is designed to help individuals maintain a clean and organized home by breaking down tasks into manageable daily, weekly, and monthly tasks. One of the unique features of Clean Mama is the use of a cleaning checklist that helps individuals keep track of their cleaning tasks. The system is also designed to be flexible, allowing individuals to adjust the cleaning tasks to fit their schedule.
The Clean Mama system also provides individuals with cleaning tips, recipes for natural cleaning products, and home organization ideas. Additionally, Clean Mama offers a variety of products to help individuals stay organized, including cleaning checklists, planner pages, and printables. The system is available through the Clean Mama website and can be purchased as a digital or physical product.
Fly Lady
Book: Chaos to Clean in 31 Easy Baby Steps
Fly Lady is another popular cleaning scheduling system that was developed by Marla Cilley, a homemaker who struggled with keeping her home clean and organized. The Fly Lady system is designed to help individuals develop good habits and routines that will keep their homes clean and clutter-free. One of the unique features of Fly Lady is the use of zones, which are specific areas of the home that are given extra attention during a certain time period. For example, Zone 1 might be the entryway and front porch, and individuals would focus on cleaning and organizing this area during the first week of the month.
The Fly Lady system also encourages individuals to establish a morning and evening routine that includes tasks such as making the bed, washing the dishes, and decluttering. The system is designed to be easy to follow and provides individuals with daily reminders and encouragement through email, social media, and the Fly Lady website. In addition, Fly Lady offers a variety of products to help individuals stay organized, including cleaning checklists, planner pages, and printables.
Maintaining a clean and organized home can be a daunting task, but with the help of cleaning scheduling systems like Clean Mama and Fly Lady, it can become more manageable. Both systems provide individuals with a framework for developing good habits and routines that will help them keep their homes clean and clutter-free. Whether you prefer the flexibility of Clean Mama or the zone-based approach of Fly Lady, there is a cleaning scheduling system that can help you achieve your home organization goals.
As for our home, I take a mixture of both to stay on top of the day to day. I love the zone focus throughout the month that the Fly Lady schedule includes, but I also like having a task each day that stays the same. The zone scheduling for me is a catch all time of the tasks I put off during the other weeks of the month. I also love the clean products that Clean Mama encourages- I now make my own counter spray and love to get the kitchen to tip top shape every night by using it. Make sure to check out both cleaning schedules and give them a try- I promise it will simplify your life!
