Dear Lucy,
Happy Birthday, my favorite girl! I can not believe you are two. It seems like just yesterday we were making the trip to the hospital, giddy with excitement to meet you. Little did we know the journey we were about to begin! You’ve made your parents much better, yet much more tired, people. You are quick to bring a smile to our faces and your joy (and even your energy, sometimes) is contagious.
Most of the time, I feel like I am nowhere near the Mom you deserve. But then you are quick to give a hug or a kiss and it makes everything seem right!
Thank you for all you’ve added to our lives and I can’t wait to see where this next year will take you.

*Photos taken a few weeks ago when Lucy was on antibiotics for an ear infection. Normally, we have to pin her down to give her medicine but Chase found out that if we let her play through the cupboards, she slurps any medicine right down. The things a parent learns to do to distract their child- ha! Now, she loves looking through spices and enjoys smelling them- although her response to most are “P U!”
