It’s been a while but I’m finally feeling like myself again (more on that later) so I wanted to get back on the blog!
We are really enjoying settling into our new home and getting to know our neighborhood and neighbors better. It’s a very community focused neighborhood which is nice! The other day, we got a plate of goodies left on our doorstep with a few papers saying “You’ve Been Booed!” The directions said we had to make two plates of treats and secretly deliver to two neighbors within two days- oh boy! What was I going to whip up to pass along? I had passed a picture in Pinterest of Nutter Butters that were dipped in white chocolate to look like ghosts so I thought that would be the perfect quick treat to recreate and give to neighbors.
It was incredibly easy, and the ingredients only call for cookies, white and dark chocolate. How simple is that?
Butter Butter Ghosts
makes about 64 cookies; takes about 1 hour
Ingredients:
2 family sized, 16 ounce packages of Nutter Butter cookies
1 bag of white chocolate chips, melted*
1/4 c of dark or semi-sweet chocolate chips, melted*
Directions:
1. Place tin foil or wax paper on a large work surface.
2. Dip each cookie a little over halfway down. Don’t worry about fully coating each side- just focus on the front.
3. Once all cookies are dipped, let the chocolate harden.
4. Take a toothpick and dip it into the dark chocolate. Draw two eyes and a long mouth onto each cookie with the toothpick.
5. Let cookies fully harden- that’s it!
*to melt chocolate really easily, place chips in microwaveable container. Microwave for 30 seconds to begin, then add 15 second increments and stir in between until fully melted.
For information on the “We’ve Been Booed”, visit My Belle Michelle– the pages I had gotten from our “Booer” were pretty photocopied so I just googled and found the same ones online but then was able to print in color, yay!
I hope everyone’s Fall is going great- enjoy your Halloween!
