Fall Bucket List

September 22, 2018

Happy First Day of Fall! We are entering my favorite season here in Boise, where the mornings and evenings are crisp and the days warm up with a sunny glow.

Fall activities are aplenty here in the Treasure Valley- between the Oktoberfests, corn mazes and football games, there isn’t enough days in the season to take part in everything. I love prioritizing by making a list of our top five things to do!

Here is our Fall bucket list:

Fall bucket list, fall in the treasure valley, fall in Boise Idaho

1. Go to a corn maze.

The Farmstead is our favorite corn maze, since it’s so close in proximity to our house! I also like how many activities are included in with admission to the corn maze. There’s a slide, a big trampoline, a cow train, petting zoo, and many more attractions for the littles! The Farmstead meridian Idaho, fall things to do in Boise
2. Make a hearty soup.

Some of my favorites are Sweet Potato Chili and Zuppa Toscano! * both links are to Whole30/Paleo recipes.

3. Pick apples at an orchard.

  • Here in the Valley, we have orchards to go to but let’s be honest, sometimes that’s out of the question with little ones or time constraints. In the past, my cheat version has been to buy a flat of fresh apples at the farmers market from local vendors! This year, Lucy is at an age where she may like to go to the orchard, so here’s a few options I’ve been looking at:
    Candy Apple Orchard
    Cabalo’s Orchard
    Tyler’s Rocky Point Orchard
  • 4. Find the best fallen leaves.

I think downtown Boise has some of the best, but we find some great leaves right in our neighborhood! Fall strolls are the best.

    5. Pick a pumpkin from a pumpkin patch.

Thankfully, The Farmstead also has a pumpkin patch so we check two items off our bucket list when we go to the corn maze (see number one).

*this photo was taken last year- Lucy sure has grown since!
