Rainy days can either be a blessing or a curse. And when you have little ones who need a mini adventure to get their sillies out before nap time, those days usually become a curse due to being cooped up inside. But today we braved the stormy skies and cool weather and went on an exploration of Eagle, Idaho! We had a play date/photoshoot with one of my “Anthro-girls”, Emily, and her baby Mav (who is a-dor-able!!!) Unfortunately, one of my favorite coffee shops in the little town went out of business (The Brim), but as we were finding an alternative we came across Wild West Bakery and Espresso. It was cozy and warm inside, and had great coffee and pastries! Lucy was very excited for a “tweet” (treat) and she kept saying how “toot” (cute) baby Mav was. Wild West’s sticky buns were the size of my face, but somehow we managed to finish it!
These mini adventures during the week on the days I get to be home with Lucy are so treasured. We don’t plan too much, usually one stop or two at most, but it’s so fun to get her out and seeing new things. Sometimes it’s just a trip to a new library or a different park. But to me, that’s what “simple living” and “living in the moment” is all about. Exploring on a daily basis and not just planning for the “next big thing”!
We wore our favorite raincoats: mine is by Marmot and is now available at REI Garage now for a serious discount and Lou’s was purchased secondhand from Swap.
