Even with a curious and busy toddler, there isn't much of a more relaxing time than a fishing trip. Last year was Lucy's first Duck Valley experience and to say this trip was easier would be an understatement! This weekend we took a quick trip to the Duck Valley Reservation to do some trout fishing. It's always an adventure there, as you never know what type of weather you will get! It's a safe bet to assume you will get at least one torrential downpour at some point in time during the trip, even if it is for just a short moment. And the WIND! Oh my goodness. Today was spent up at Lucky Peak Reservoir fishing for trout and Kokanee salmon. It was a gorgeous day! A bit windy at times, but for the most part just perfect to be on the water. We (and by "we" I actually mean Chase and Craig) caught three Kokanee, so fresh salmon was served for dinner- yum! Honestly, I was somewhat happy that it was windy because I was excited to get to wear my new red Marmot windbreaker! Chase and Craig have built a handy system on the boat with downriggers.[...]
